It’s been almost two years since the very first Ultra Culture Cinema event at the ICA: a preview of Werner Herzog’s The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans. At one point however, it was going to be Greenberg, as illustrated in the above poster mockup.
I’m not entirely sure why I thought it would be rated 18.
Eight films to look forward to in 2012 (via Ultra Culture)

This week, I was lucky enough to be part of a ‘select bunch of British film industry movers and shakers’ asked by Time Out London to make a wish for cinema in 2012. Luckier still, I was part of an even select-er bunch whose contributions were thrown straight in the bin.
So here’s mine:
In 2012, I hope to see at least one movie in which an arrogant, self-obssessed, massively overweight woman in her late 40s is rabidly pursued by a succession of beautiful young men - all seduced by her apparently boundless animal magnetism. And once I’ve seen that, I’ll happily sit through whatever Kevin James has coming out.
